Sometimes it’s nice to escape from all of your stresses and indulge in a nice pamper, even if only for an hour it can leave you feeling refreshed and do you the absolute world of good! This is exactly what happened to me last week when I had a facial at Baltic Woodlands Spa. Based in Jamaica Street in the Baltic Triangle, this quaint little spa is located in one of the coolest places in Liverpool. It’s one of three salons in the Woodlands chain and although it’s the baby of the group, there’s nothing babyish about it.
Upon arrival I discussed my skin type and any issues I had with my skin with Antonia (who is the loveliest person FYI, and who used to work in the Aigburth salon) who then told me about a few of their different facials and recommended the Oxy Bright Facial for my skin type. This is one of their “red carpet” facials, meaning that you could literally have this done and then hit the red carpet…or more realistically for me, The Clubhouse for a cocktail. Nonetheless, this is a brilliant technique because it’s pretty much guaranteed that you won’t have a nasty reaction and be left with blotchy, tender skin. Instead, I walked away from the salon with glowy, soft skin that was positively radiant!
In terms of the finer details, the Oxy Bright facial involved a cleansing, a scrub using manual microdermabrasion beads, and a foam mask (as shown in the horrendous but highly amusing selfie below). I’ll admit that I was a little bit weary of the microdermabrasion beads given that I have terribly sensitive skin but I had nothing to worry about as they cleared up all of the dead skin off of my face without being too abrasive.
As I’m sure you can imagine facials are not the only treatment offered at this gorgeous range of salons, and you can find out about their full range of treatments right here, but this list includes Shellac mani/pedis, a whole range of different facials and some aesthetic treatments.
Overall I had an amazing experience at Woodlands Baltic. It was nice to take an hour and my skin felt truly amazing afterwards. I would definitely recommend having a look on their website and booking yourself in for a treat- you won’t regret it!
