Makeup Geek Sparklers

Makeup Geek Sparklers

Hey Lovelies!

A few weeks ago I was very fortunate to win £100 BeautyBay voucher as part of the #BBDareToShare competition and as part of the haul that followed on from this win, I picked up two of Makeup Geek’s Sparklers. These are loose shimmering eye pigments that can be used to add a subtle glimmer or a heavy sparkle to the lid, and today I want to share my thoughts on them with you all!

I picked up the shades Solstice which is a really pretty mint green shade, and Solar Flare which is an orange based shades with multi- coloured flecks running through it.

These little beauties come in a huge range of colours, but I was instantly drawn to these two because they’re so summery and bold- I’ve been trying to step up my eye makeup game and these definitely add a little something extra!

Starting with the packaging, there is no filter (if that’s even the right word?) inside the little pot meaning that you don’t have to shake it about to try and get product into the lid. I like this because it definitely makes it easier if you plan on applying lots of product, but please note that you do have to be gentle when opening it or else it will end up everywhere!

When I want to use these as more of a block colour, I use NYX (NAME) to apply them and they go on seamlessly, without looking cakey and cracking throughout the day. For more of a subtle sparkle, I will just apply these solo on top of an eyeshadow and although the colour doesn’t shop up as much when I do this, they still look stunning (see swatches below!)

As for price point, these are £9.50 but every now and again select shades do go on sale on BEAUTY BAY so it’s definitely worth keeping an eye out! When I first saw these I thought that £9.50 was a little steep for a pot of glitter but now that I’ve used them I definitely think that they’re amazing value for money and I want to try more.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this post, if you’ve tried any of these beautiful glitters please let me know what you think!

Thank you so much for reading,

Alex

Solstice is an amazing colour! I’ve never seen these before, but I still need to learn how to use glitter first. I still need to buy the NYX glitter primer, I’ll grab that next time I’m shopping. Always love your eye make up xx

Aw thank you so much lovely! Solstice is gorgeous isn’t it, I’m obsessed! I never ever used to use glitter because I used to end up with it all over my face but it’s just one of those things that gets easier with practice!xx

These two glitters look beautiful! The NYX primer looks like such a great dupe for the Urban Decay Primer potion, as well. There’s nothing worse than applying glitter, just to find it looks like you used it for the first time in middle school, haha. I love your blog (honestly!!) and have just followed your links. Can’t wait to read more of your posts 🙂 xx
