Before I start, I want to say that this review is probably going to be a long one, so you may want to be sitting comfortably with a snack and a drink!
If you follow me on Snapchat, Twitter or Instagram, you will have seen that over the past week I have been obsessed with In Your Dreams Chunky Glitters from their Mythical Collection. Having played around with the beautiful face glitters, I thought I’d share my thoughts on them with you and round up some inspiration on how to use them!
(L-R: Purple Unicorn, Silver Selene, Gold Lileth, Iridescent Mermaid)
The first thing I want to say is that because this is chunky glitter, it’s not really suitable for use on the eyes so please be cautious when using it!
When I got these glitters I got them with some Dr. Pawpaw Balms (you can read my review of these here) which is what is recommended to apply them with, so you just put the balm on your face and pack the glitter on top. I love this because it actually makes removing the glitter really easy and you don’t end up with it all over your face! You can also use NYX Glitter Primer to apply these if you can’t get your hands on to the Dr. PawPaw balms!
Possibly the only slight problem with these glitters is that when you apply them, they do tend to go everywhere. Personally, it doesn’t bother me; I love having a sparkly carpet! But if you don’t like the idea of having a glittery surface after use, you may want to lay some tissue down before you apply them!
In the image above, I’m wearing the Purple Unicorn glitter and I had an absolute ball creating this look! I had used he Dr. PawPaw Balms to apply the glitter here and although it did stay in place all day, as soon as you wipe it it starts to move. As I mentioned before, this does make it really easy to remove, but if you want the glitter to be a bit more slip resistant (for lack of a better term!) then the NYX primer is probably better for you!
I absolutely love these glitters, but I’m not the only one… The photos below are of my beautiful 6 year old cousin who saw my photos and wanted a glittery look too! I used the Purple Unicorn with the NYX glitter primer and it stayed on her all day! Please note that I don’t know if these glitters are child safe, I asked her mums permission first and was careful to stay far away from her eyes when applying this to her lil’ face!
If I could get away with wearing these glitters on a daily basis, I definitely would! But I think they’re more festival, fancy dress or Halloween appropriate and I can’t wait to wear them at a time whereby I can showcase them properly!
If you want to buy these beautiful glitters, you can shop them direct from the In Your Dreams website here. In terms of price point, each pot costs £5.50 which is really reasonable in my opinion because a little bit goes a super long way!
I honestly can’t wait to play with these glitters some more and see what I can come up with! I hope you have enjoyed reading this review, and if you have tried these beauties, be sure to let me know what you think!
Thanks so much for reading
